As you enter the basement level, you’ll be greeted by an inviting entertainment area featuring a TV and a bumper pool table, perfect for cozy evenings with friends and family. Additionally, a door makes this room into a private studio, complete with a queen Murphy bed and a convenient full bathroom with shower.

The heart of the home lies upstairs, where a full kitchen and living area greet you with the atmosphere of a home away from home. Gather around the gas fireplace in the cozy living space, or step outside onto the balcony to savor breathtaking views of Grand Lake, Mount Baldy and majestic mountains. Down the hall, you'll find another full bathroom with a standing shower nearest a comfortable queen bedroom. The master bedroom, complete with an ensuite bathroom, TV, and king bed, promises restful nights after days filled with adventure along with views of Point Park and the surrounding mountains. Additionally, the ensuite bathroom features a jetted tub/ shower combo for some extra R&R. You'll enjoy not one, but two outdoor spaces at this lakeside paradise! The balcony boasts comfortable outdoor living complete with a gas fireplace or you can choose to walk down closer to the water, where there is a second outdoor area offering a table for dining while taking in the scenery. * Please note prior to booking, this home is a part of a shared breezeway from the owner’s home and is otherwise private and completely separate. Additionally, kayaks are available for renters! A release form is required for use - allowing you to explore the crystal-clear waters of Grand Lake at your leisure.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made prior to 30 days of your arrival date for stays of 6 nights or less will incur a $50 cancellation fee and forfeit the non-refundable booking fee. Cancellations of reservations of 7 nights or more, prior to 30 days before your arrival date incur a $200 cancellation fee and forfeit the non-refundable booking fee. For cancellations within 30 days of arrival date the entire amount is non-refundable for all reservations.

Winter Arrival:
Please be prepared before beginning your drive to the mountains! Four-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. Although the main roads are usually plowed well, many residential areas require traversing steep hills on dirt roads that are not as maintained. Keep in mind that chain laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you a comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. We will not accommodate refunds related to weather or road conditions, please plan accordingly.

I almost gave this a 0, but my strife is with the management company. Grand Mountain Rentals does not deserve the privilege of managing this extraordinary property. The owners should be aware of their poor ambassadorship and zero regard for basic hospitality. After a weekend on this glorious property for our 10th anniversary, we were yanked out of the peace this place provides, by the nasty treatment of a GMR associate. Upon arrival, she granted us a late check out (as there was not a party checking in after us). The problem is she did not communicate this to her cleaning company. The crew arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled check out. That's when I received a rude and frantic phone call. I was caught off guard by her tirade, and disrespect. She said things like, "You're lucky I'm letting you be there," making us feel like delinquents while we were in the middle of leaving the home better than we found it. My husband and I are courteous, punctual people with respect for rules. I doubt this is how the owners want their guests to feel. (I can tell they have pride in ownership and have raised their son to love it as they have. We watched him mow the lawn, and take such good care of the boats and the house in a way that would make any mother or father proud.) The woman on the phone dropped the ball and, now, her lack of follow-through became my sudden crisis. She even said, "I'm wasting my time talking to you when you could be getting out of the house..." And, she called us! Making us feel so guilty, when we were holding our end of the agreement. Despite a concerted effort to shake off the anxiety and anguish she induced, we couldn't kick it. She squashed the mood of our otherwise joyful weekend. This is truly the best STR we've stayed in, by far. The feeling it evokes with its charm, natural beauty, and breathtaking views is inexplicable. A true dream home, but such a disappointing ending. If it was me, I'd fire GMR for treating my business with such little care.

We absolutely agree on one thing: this home is beautiful, and we’re sorry that your stay didn’t live up to your expectations as it certainly does not deserve your 1 star review.

We didn’t confirm your late check-out because it wasn’t approved. The cleaning crew specifically asked that guests leave at 10am so they could prepare the home before their scheduled vacation. When you were still in the house at noon, it disrupted their entire day.
It's unfortunate that you assumed you could check out whenever you pleased without confirmation. You knew how to contact us as you no issue reaching us regarding personal matters, like emailing or calling our emergency lines about disposing of your child’s diapers after hours. Any anxiety you felt from our call asking why you were still in the house at noon—two hours past check-out—was a result of not following the standard check-out time. The way you argued with us over the phone that day doesn’t quite align with the version of events you described in your review.

We had a great time over labor day weekend. The lake was packed, but the Chalet was the perfect place to kick up our feet and enjoy the views. The owners were awesome too! Definitely recommend and will be booking again.
